Lisa Eaton, LCSW, CADC
It takes courage to meet with a therapist, and I am sensitive to the winding journeys that lead people to my office.
I utilize a relatable, collaborative approach in developing relationships with my clients. I feel that the most important predictor of results and self-growth in therapy is the relationship between client and therapist, and I want my clients to feel they have a partner in this process. Further, I strive to help my clients feel comfortable and safe while guiding them toward change. I can also be super directive and skill-based because I want my clients to leave each session knowing what to do next to manage current stressors and feel better. I use a solution-focused and strengths-based approach to help my clients move from where they are to where they want to be.

I work with clients from adolescence through adulthood, as well as their families, exclusively through TeleHealth. My experience with TeleHealth dates back to 2011 when it was still a bit like the Wild West, and I transitioned to using only TeleHealth in 2016—well before the pandemic. I know how to help my clients get terrific results doing therapy this way. TeleHealth is also a great option for clients who cannot attend regular office appointments due to busy work schedules, commuting times, frequent business traveling, weather conditions, parenting demands, or health issues.
My Background
My educational background includes a Master of Social Work from Aurora University in Illinois and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. I have experience treating people of all backgrounds, including at a halfway house, city police department, county and state jails/prisons, community mental health centers, elementary, middle, and high schools, domestic violence and human trafficking shelter, and private practices both in the Chicago suburbs and in Orange County, California. I also have additional training and certification in treating clients and families impacted by substance addictions and process addictions, as well as over ten years of experience providing Clinical Supervision, Professional Consultation, and coaching services to licensed therapists, pre-licensed therapists, and business owners.
A fun fact about me is that while I currently live in So. Cal. (where it feels like the land of the Eternal Summer), I am originally from the Chicagoland area (where it feels like the land of the Eternal Winter). I just could NOT do one more Chicago Winter, and I seriously love the year-round sunshine here—although I definitely miss my Chicago pizza, a good thunderstorm, and my White Sox!
